HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 4186CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 4186 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH KING COUNTY REGARDING TRAFFIC SIGNAL, CHANNELIZATION AND TRAFFIC SIGNAL PRIORITY IMPROVEMENTS IN RELATION TO THE PLANNED METRO RAPIDRIDE F-LINE CORRIDOR. WHEREAS, the City and King County are authorized, pursuant to RCW Chapter 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, to enter into interlocal government cooperative agreements; and WHEREAS, King County and the City are working together to refine the traffic and transit operations at the intersections of 16th Avenue SW and SW Oakesdale, and 16th Avenue SW and SW Lind Street, for the planned Metro RapidRide F-Line Corridor; and WHEREAS, these planned traffic and transit operations will provide transit speed and reliability improvements along the RapidRide F-Line Corridor implementation; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions in a letter of understanding; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a letter of understanding with King County regarding traffic signal, channelization and traffic signal priority improvements in relation to the planned Metro RapidRide F-Line Corridor. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 4186 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 3rd day of June , 2013.
