HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 4187CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 4187 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SUPPLEMENTING CAG-10-002, FOR THE HIGHLANDS TO BOEING/LANDING PEDESTRIAN CONNECTION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Highlands to Boeing/Landing Pedestrian Connection Project (the "Project") was selected under the non-motorized category of the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program for a federal grant intended for design of a pedestrian connection between the Renton Highlands and the Landing and Coulon Park; and WHEREAS, in addition to the funds granted for the design of the pedestrian improvements, the Project has been awarded a grant of $1,700,000 for the construction of the pedestrian connection; and WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation ("WSDOT") will administer the grant funds on behalf of the Federal Government and will also provide certain types of work and services on the project as specified in the Interlocal Agreement; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to memorialize the terms and conditions under which the grant funding is accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal agreement with WSDOT supplementing CAG-10-002, to accept grant funding for the 1 RESOLUTION NO. 4187 Highlands to Boeing/Landing Pedestrian Connection Project, and all subsequent agreements necessary to accomplish design and construction of this project.
