RESOLUTION NO. 4193
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH
THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES ENTITLED "AQUATIC LANDS
LEASE" FOR GENE COULON MEMORIAL BEACH PARK.
WHEREAS, the City and the Department of Natural Resources ("DNR") are authorized,
pursuant to RCW Chapter 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, to enter into an interlocal
government cooperative agreement; and
WHEREAS, Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park is in the City of Renton and a portion is
on aquatic land owned by DNR; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the aquatic land owned by DNR is used by Ivar's Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, by state law, the City is required to pay DNR rent for non aquatic use of its
aquatic lands; and
WHEREAS, the City and DNR have engaged in lengthy negotiations concerning the City's
lease of DNR aquatic land; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions of the City and DNR's
agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION I1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
interlocal agreement with DNR entitled "Aquatic Lands Lease" regarding Gene Coulon Memorial
Beach Park.
