HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 4135CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 4135 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ENDORSING THE RENTON SCHOOL DISTRICT'S BOND MEASURE ON THE APRIL 17, 2012, BALLOT, AND URGING A "YES" VOTE ON IT. WHEREAS, the Renton School District has before the voters a $97 million school construction bond measure entitled "Building for a Lifetime of Learning"; and WHEREAS, this bond measure is necessary to provide for the construction of a new middle school, to perform improvements to existing schools, renovate the pool at Lindberg High School, upgrade existing classrooms, and replace plumbing, mechanical and heating and ventilation systems and more; and WHEREAS, a 60% "yes" vote will be required to pass this bond measure; and WHEREAS, past projects have been completed on time and on budget; and WHEREAS, this bond measure is necessary to allow Renton School District to make the crucial improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION II. The City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, endorses the "Building for a Lifetime of Learning" school construction bond measure for the Renton School District.
