RESOLUTION NO. 4072
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH
THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, RESOURCE
PROTECTION DIVISION, REGARDING A GRANT FOR THE URBAN TREE CANOPY
ASSESSMENT PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton ("City") and the Washington State Department of Natural
Resources, Resource Protection Division ("DNR") are authorized pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCWto
enter into agreements providing for interlocal cooperation; and
WHEREAS, DNR has offered a grant in the amount of $30,000 to assist the City with the
Urban Tree Canopy Assessment Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Project will assist the DNR in understanding the amount of urban tree
canopy in the greater Seattle area and Renton; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which DNR
grants funding to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
interlocal agreement with DNR entitled "Interagency Agreement with the City of Renton",
Agreement No. IAA-11-34/K244-07-DG-599 for the Urban Tree Canopy Assessment Project.
