HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 4032CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 4032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FOR THE HIGHLANDS TO LANDING PEDESTRIAN CONNECTION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Highlands to Landing Pedestrian Connection Project was selected under the non-motorized category of the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program for a federal grant of two hundred forty thousand dollars ($240,000), with a thirteen and one-half percent (13.5%) City match required; and WHEREAS, the grant funding is intended for design of a pedestrian connection between the Renton Highlands and the Landing and Coulon Park as there are currently no pedestrian facilities from the 1-405 ramp on the east side to the Landing; and WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will administer the grant funds on behalf of the Federal Government and will also provide certain types of work and services on the project as specified in the Interlocal Agreement; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to memorialize the terms and conditions under which the grant funding is accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. RESOLUTION NO. 4032 SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal agreement with WSDOT to accept grant funding for the Highlands to Landing Pedestrian Connection Project.
