RESOLUTION NO. 4125
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 4061 CALLING FOR THE ANNEXATION BY ELECTION OF THE
WEST HILL ANNEXATION AREA BY CHANGING THE ELECTION DATE TO
NOVEMBER 6, 2012.
WHEREAS, on August 9, 2010 the City of Renton adopted Resolution No. 4061, which
called for the annexation by election of the West Hill Annexation Area; and
WHEREAS, the resolution called for an election to be scheduled on February 14, 2012,
and directed the City Clerk to take the necessary actions to place the proposal before the
voters; and
WHEREAS, the Governor has proposed in her 2012 Supplemental Budget to eliminate
the sales tax credit program for future annexations such as this; and
WHEREAS, it would be prudent to defer this annexation election until the legislature
acts or fails to act on the issue and the City has had time to study and understand the results;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the resolution and direct the City Clerk to take the
necessary actions so the proposal will not appear on the February 14, 2012 ballot;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct.
SECTION II. Resolution No. 4061 is hereby amended to change the election date from
February 14, 2012, until November 6, 2012.

SECTION 111. The City Clerk is directed to take the necessary actions with King County
so the proposal for the annexation by election of the West Hill Annexation Area does not
appear on the February 14, 2012 ballot, but rather the November 6, 2012 ballot.
