ORDINANCE NO.5300
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 8-4-34 OF ORDINANCE 4260,ENTITLED 'CODE
OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON'BY ADDING SUBSECTION C.PROVIDING FOR
DISCRETION IN ADMINISTRATION OF THE FEES PROVIDED FOR
THEREIN.
WHEREAS,the City administers billing and payment of fees by its customers for utility
services as provided for in RMC 8-4;and
WHEREAS,RMC 8-4-34 assesses the sum of $60 for the expenses incurred by the City
for turning the water off as a result of non-payment of utility fees;and
.WHEREAS,from time to time,this fee is assessed when its applicability may be in
doubt or would be unjust.
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASIllNGTON,DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIONL
Subsection C.as follows:
Renton Municipal Code Section 8-4-34 is amended by adding
C.The PlanninglBuilding/Public Works Administrator and/or Finance and Information
Services Administrator (or designee)shall be responsible for administering this Section
and the authority to adjust the $60 fee in Sub-Section A above as appropriate in the
circumstances.The Administrator's decision shall be final.
SECTION II.
30 days after publication.
This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,approval,and
PASSEDBYTHECITYCOUNCILthis 20th dayof August,2007.
