RESOLUTION NO.3974
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE
UTILITY CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
RENTON AND THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION REGARDING THE SEWER RELOCATION NEAR
THUNDER HILLS CREEK AS A PART OF THE 1-405/1-5 TO SR 169
STAGE 2-WIDENING PROJECT.
WHEREAS,the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)1-405/1-5 to
SR 169 Stage 2-Widening project,scheduled to begin in early 2009,will build an additional lane
on 1-405 in each direction between SR 167 and SR 169,reconstruct Benson Road from City Hall
south over 1-405 and widen Talbot Road between South Renton Village Place and Puget Drive;
and
WHEREAS,the City owns an 18"sanitary sewer line that crosses 1-405 near Thunder
Hills Creek;and
WHEREAS,an existing manhole is currently located between Benson Road and 1-405
that must be relocated in order to avoid the planned 1-405 southbound off-ramp to Talbot Road;
and
WHEREAS,the Utility Construction Agreement establishes that this relocation work
will be bid separately within the WSDOT Stage 2 project,funded by the City and constructed by
the design-builder within this project;
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON,DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

RESOLUTION NO.3974
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the
Utility Construction Agreement with WSDOT for the purpose of extending the City fiber
network south ofI-405.
