RESOLUTION NO.3794
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTH COUNTY TRANSPORTATION
BOARD.
WHEREAS,the City of Renton recogmzes that multijurisdictional transportation
planning and coordination is beneficial to the City;and
WHEREAS,.Renton and South King County have a history of multijurisdictional
transportation planning dating back to the late 1970s;and
WHEREAS,King County,Metro,WSDOT and the cities of Auburn,Des Moines,Kent,
Renton,Tukwila,and SeaTac have demonstrated,through the South County Area Transportation
Benefit District Steering Committee and program development effort,the benefits that can be
achieved by regional coordination;and
WHEREAS,the enormous cost of many of the needed transportation improvements and
their importance to the South King County as a whole demonstrate the need for a cooperative
approach to planning,financing,and construction of these improvements;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to share information and continue the coordination effort that
Renton maintains with other South County jurisdictions and related regional agencies;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and advisable to amend the prior agreements for the South
King County Transportation Board;
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON,DOES RESOLVB AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.The above findings are true and correct in aU respects.

RESOLUTION NO.3794
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into the
2006-2009 Agreement for the South County Area Transportation Board for the purpose of
information-sharing,coordination,and consensus-building on transportation issues with other
South County jurisdictions and related regional agencies.
