RESOLUTION NO.3798
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT ENTITLED "KING COUNTY,
WASHINGTON,MUTUAL ASSISTANCE AND INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT."
WHEREAS,various agencies of state government are authorized to enter into interlocal
cooperative agreements to allow them to share in the purchasing power of each other,provided
such purchasing is otherwise authorized by law;and
WHEREAS,it would be advantageous to the City to provide qualified personnel,
appropriate equipment and necessary materials to other agencies when available,and receive in
return the use of qualified personnel,appropriate equipment,and necessary materials when the
City ofRenton suffers an emergency;and
WHEREAS,since 1985,a mutual aid agreement has been in place between fire and aid
jurisdictions in King County,including the City of Renton;and
WHEREAS,the new "King County,Washington,Mutual Assistance and Interlocal
Agreement"will update the prior mutual aid agreement;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which
emergency response and purchasing power will be provided;
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON,DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.The above findings are true and correct in all respects.

RESOLUTION NO.3798
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
Interlocal Agreement entitled "King County,Washington,Mutual Assistance and Interlocal
Agreement."
