RESOLUTION NO.3816
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON,'VASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR A1~D CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE
·WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,FOR
GRANT FUl\TDING FOR PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION ON SR 900
AT MP 10.08 (S.3RD STREET AT SHATTUCK AVENUE).
'VHEREAS,S.31d Street at Shattuck Avenue,also known as SR 900-MP 10.08,is a
location that has continuously ranJ.::ed high on the state's "Pedestrian Accident Location"(PAL)
lists;and
'VHEREAS,the City desires to do certain planning and construction work to design and
construct the rebuilding of the intersection to improve visibility of pedestrians and bicyclists,and
provide clearer direction for motorists;and
'VHEREAS,the City has estimated the total cost of this project at $300,000;and
WHEREAS,the Washington State Department of Transportation has available to the
City a grant in the sum of $200,000;and
'VHEREAS,it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the State
will provide,and the City will accept,such grant;
NO'V,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON,DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

The above findings are true and correct in all respects.
The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into an interlocal
cooperative agreement with the Washington State Depar1ment of Transportation entitled
Highways and Local Programs State Funding Agreement for SR 900 -MP 10.08 (S.3rd Street at

Shattuck A venue)as well as any fUl1her agreements,supplemental agreements,or other
documentation necessary to execute the work associated with this project.
