HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 5038CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 5038 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM HEAVY INDUSTRIAL ZONING TO URBAN CENTER-NORTH 2 ZONING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. FILE NO. LUA-02-141 (BURLINGTON NORTHERN). WHEREAS, under Section 4-2-020 of Chapter 2, Zoning Districts - Uses and Standards, of Title IV (Development Regulations) of Ordinance No. 4260 known as the "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" as amended, and the maps and reports adopted in conjunction therewith, the property hereinbelow described has previously been zoned as Heavy Industrial; and WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated a proceeding for change of zone classification of said property; and WHEREAS, this matter was duly referred to the Planning Commission for investigation, study, and public hearing, and a public hearing having been held thereon on or about November 12, 2003, and said matter having been duly considered by the Planning Commission, and said zoning request being in conformity with the City's Comprehensive Plan, as amended, and the City Council having duly considered all matters relevant thereto, and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in opposition thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The following described property in the City of Renton is hereby rezoned to Urban Center-North 2 (UC-N 2), as hereinbelow specified. The Economic Development, Neighborhoods, and Strategic Planning Department is hereby authorized and 1 ORDINANCE NO. 5038 directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to evidence said rezoning, to- wit: See Exhibits 'A' and 'B' attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. (Property consisting of approximately 3.91 acres located at Lake Washington Boulevard North.) SECTION II. There is hereby declared an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect December 1, 2003.
