CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 4966
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 2-6-2 OF CHAPTER 6, FIREMEN'S PENSION
BOARD, OF TITLE II (COMMISSIONS AND BOARDS) OF ORDINANCE
NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON" BY ALLOWING RETIRED
FIREMEN TO SERVE ON THE FIREMEN'S PENSION BOARD,
PURSUANT TO STATE LAW.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 2-6-2 of Chapter 6, Firemen's Pension Board, of Title II
(Commissions and Boards) of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, Washington," is hereby amended to read as follows:
2-6-2 MUNICIPAL FIREMEN'S PENSION BOARD:
There is hereby established pursuant to said chapter 41.18 RCW, a Municipal Firemen's
Pension Board of the City, to consist of the officials and persons designated in said chapter 41.18
RCW, being initially the Mayor, who shall be chairman of the Board, the City Clerk, the
chairman of the Finance Committee of the Council, and in addition two (2) regularly employed
or retired firemen of the City elected by secret ballot of the firemen for terms as designated in
said chapter 41.18 RCW. Such Board and the members, secretary, employees, and agents
thereof shall have and exercise all powers, duties and functions prescribed by said chapter 41.18
RCW.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and
30 days after publication.
