HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4842CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 4842 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM P-l (PUBLIC USE) TO I-L (INDUSTRIAL LIGHT) (RENTON TECHNICAL COLLEGE; FILE NO. LUA-95-099, R). WHEREAS, under Section 4.2.020 of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of Title IV (Development Regulations), of Ordinance No. 4260 known as the "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton," as amended, and the maps and reports adopted in conjunction therewith, the property hereinbelow described has heretofore been zoned as P-l (Pubhc Use); and WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated a proceeding for change of zoning classification of said property on December 16, 1998. This matter was duly referred to the Hearing Examiner for investigation, study, and pubhc hearing, and a pubhc hearing having been held thereon on or about January 19, 1999, and said matter having been duly considered by the Hearing Examiner, and said zoning request having been recommended for approval with certain conditions, and the matter having been appealed to the City Council of the City of Renton for reconsideration of Condition No. 3, and said City Council approved the rezone with the conditions imposed by the Hearing Examiner, except Condition No. 3 would be amended and the terms of Condition No. 3 be recorded, and said zoning being in conformity with the city's Comprehensive Plan, as amended, and the City Council having duly considered all matters relevant thereto, and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in opposition thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The fohowing described property in the City of Renton is hereby rezoned to I-L (Industrial Light) with a "P" suffix, as hereinbelow specified, subject to the findings, conclusions, and 1 ORDINANCE NO. 4842 decision of the Hearing Examiner dated January 26, 1999, as amended by the Council on April 26, 1999, and subject further to restrictive covenants filed under King County Auditor's File No. 19991223001294, and which said covenants are hereby incorporated and made a part hereof as if fully set forth, the Development Services Director is hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to evidence said rezoning, to-wit: See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. (Said property, approximately 30.32 acres, is located at N.E. 4th Avenue between Monroe Avenue N.E. on the east and Kirkland Avenue N.E. on the west.) SECTION IL This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and five days after its pubhcation. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 15th day of May , 2000.
