HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4881ORDINANCE NO.4881 Amends ORD HIS 4643, 4461, 4815, 4814,4481 CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON Amended By"ORD 4928,5043 5112,5179 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTIONS 8-2-2.G AND 8-2-3.E.l OF CHAPTER 2,STORM AND SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE,AND SECTION 8-5-15.D OF CHAPTER 5,SEWERS,OF TITLE VIII (HEALTH AND SANITATION) OF ORDINANCE NO.4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON"BY REVISING STORMWATER AND WASTEWATER UTILITY RATES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON,DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I.Section 8-2-2.G of Chapter 2,Stonn and Surfuce Water Drainage, of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation)of Ordinance No.4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,Washington"is hereby amended to read as follows: G.Special Rates: I.a.Senior and/or disabled citizens who qualified WIder Section 8-4-31.C for low-income rates prior to August 1,1994,are eligible for rates of one dollar thirteen cents ($1.13)per month for a seventy five percent (75%)rate subsidy,or one dollar fifty five cents ($1.55)for a forty percent (40"10)rate subsidy. b.Senior and/or disabled citizens who qualifY under Section 8-4-3I.C for low-income rates after August I.1994,are eligible for rates of one dollar thirty nine cents ($1.39)per month for a seventy five percent (75%)rate subsidy,or three dollars thirty cents ($3.30)for a forty percent (40%)subsidy. 2.New customers who qualify for special rates Wider Section 8-4-31.B are eligible for the following rates after the effective date hereof: I ORDINANCE NO.4881 a.Customers thirty five percent (35%)or below the median household income for Renton will pay one dollar twenty nine cents ($1.29)per month. b.Double occupancy households with an income between thirty six percent (36%)and forty seven percent (47%)of Renton's median household income will pay three doUars and nine cents ($3.09)per month. SECTION II.Section 8-Z-3.E.l of Chapter 2,Storm and Surface Water Drainage,of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation)of Ordinance No.4260 entitled ''Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,Washington"is hereby amended to read as follows: E.Charges For Surface Water Utility: 1.The foUowing schedule is hereby adopted as the montltly charges to be paid to the City for surface water utility services: a.Single-family dweUing b.Low intensity c.Medium intensity d.High intensity e.Gravel pits f.City streets SECTION III. $5.39 per unit 26.70 per acre 38.61 per acre 49.80 per acre 53.69 per acre 13.39 per acre Section 8-5-15.D of Chapter 5,Sewers,of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation)of Ordinance No.4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington"is hereby amended to read as follows: D.Additional Charges:In addition to the foregoing charges specified in this Section,the foUowing rates shall be charged: 2 ORDINANCE NO.4881 1.A charge of nineteen dollars seventy five cents ($19.75)per month payable to Metro for each single-fumily dwelling unit. 2.A charge of nineteen dollars seventy five cents ($19.75)per month payable to Metro for each seven hundred fifty (750)cubic feet,or any fraction thereof,of water used for all nsers other than single-fiunily. 3.Any additional charges hereafter imposed by Metro under the "Industrial Cost Recovery"or "Industrial Waste Surcharge"programs required under the FWPCA (pL 92-500), section 204,or as same may be amended hereafter,plus fifteen percent (15%)thereof as an additional charge for the City's cost of implementing such programs. 4.Senior and/or disabled citizens who qualified under RMC 8-4-31.C for low- income rates prior to August I,1994,are eligible for the following rates: a.Nineteen dollars seventy five cents ($19.75)per month for Metro sewer, and one dollar five cents ($1.05)per month fur City sewer charges for a seventy five percent (75%)rate subsidy and two dollars ($2.00)per,month for City sewer charges for a forty percent (40"/0)rate subsidy. b.Senior and/or disabled citizens who qualify under Section 8-4-31.C for low-income rates after August 1,1994,are eligible for the following rates: (1)Nineteen dollars seventy five cents ($19.75)per month for Metro sewer and three dollars twenty cents ($3.20)per month for City sewer charges for a seventy five percent (75%)rate subsidy,and seven dollars sixty cents ($7.60)per month for City sewer charges for a forty percent (40"/0)rate subsidy. 3 ORDINANCE NO.4881 (2)For double occupancy households,six dollars ninety cents ($6.90) per month for households with incomes between thirty six percent (36%)and forty seven percent (47%)ofthe median household income for the City. 5.For those senior citizens,sixty two (62)years of age or older and/or disabled citizens,when such seniors and/or disabled citizens are not otherwise eligible for special rates as low-income seniors and/or disabled citizens,but who qualify for property tax exemption pursuant to RCW 84.36.381.5(a)and are not residents of the City shall be exempt from the fifty percent (50%)utility surcharge applicable to those customers not residents of the City and shall be exempt from the necessity to execute an agreement to annex to the City under Section 8-5- 15.CA.a.To receive this exemption the applicant must provide the information required under Section 8-4-31.C.2.
