RESOLUTION NO. 3549
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY TRADE AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT FOR FUNDING TO UPDATE THE COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is required by the Growth Management Act to prepare
and update a Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is time for the City to update the Comprehensive Plan that it has
previously adopted; and
WHEREAS, there are funds available through the Washington State Department of
Community Trade and Economic Development (CTED); and
WHEREAS, CTED is authorized by law to provide assistance to local governments,
including financial assistance and incentives to encourage and facilitate the adoption and
implementation of Comprehensive Plans and development regulations throughout the state, and
WHEREAS, CTED desires to engage the City to perform certain tasks as specified by the
proposed contract; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is scheduled to receive $42,000, under this agreement, to
update its Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the City
will receive such funding from CTED;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
interlocal agreement with the Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic
Development entitled contract number s02-63000-139 providing for funding to update the City's
Comprehensive Plan.
