RESOLUTION NO. 3554
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON
DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY AND THE CITY OF RENTON
REGARDING A COORDINATED PREVENTION GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton wishes to implement integrated pest management
practices and to reduce residential use of landscape herbicides and pesticides; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Ecology, through its Local Toxics Control
Account, has grant funds available to assist the City in both endeavors; and
WHEREAS, the grant amount would be up to a maximum of 75 percent of the total
eligible amount of $79,040, for a total grant amount of $59,280; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the grant
would be made available to the City of Renton;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
agreement between the City of Renton and the State Department of Ecology for grant funding
from the state's Local Toxics Control Account in the maximum amount of $59,280.
