RESOLUTION NO. 3573
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT
BOARD (T.LB.) FOR A GRANT THAT WILL FUND THE ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS ON DUVALL AVENUE NE AND SR-900, FROM SR-
900 TO THE NORTHERN CITY LIMITS.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has determined that it wishes to make road
improvements, including road widening, to Duvall Avenue NE and SR-900, from SR-900 to the
northern City limits, in order to reduce congestion and accidents and raise levels of service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is planning the design, right-of-way and construction of
these road improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) has funds available to provide
financial assistance to the City of Renton for this project, with a $3,095,640 grant to the City; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the
Transportation Improvement Board will provide funds to the City of Renton;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
agreement with the Transportation Improvement Board for provision of funding for the road
improvements to Duvall Avenue NE and SR-900, from SR-900 to the northern City limits, and
are further authorized to enter into other such contracts necessary to obtain funds from the
RESOLUTION NO. 3573
Transportation Improvement Board for further phases of the project, up to and including
construction of these roadways.
