HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3574CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3574 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR THE GREEN RIVER FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the City of Renton is partially within those areas of the lower Green River watershed that are within the boundaries of the Green River Flood Control Zone District; and WHEREAS, the City of Renton shares interests and responsibilities for addressing flood hazard reduction planning, river project construction and repair, and maintenance and operation of critical flood protection facilities within the lower Green River watershed; and WHEREAS, the City of Renton wishes to provide for planning, funding and implementation of programs, activities, and projects within the lower Green River watershed; and WHEREAS, the City of Renton shares those responsibilities with the cities of Auburn, Kent, and Tukwila, and King County; and WHEREAS, the parties have previously entered into the 1985 Green River Management Agreement and the 1992 Green River Basin Program Interlocal Agreement in order to coordinate their efforts to achieve the goals contained in those agreements; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to update and renew those agreements; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects. RESOLUTION NO. 3 5 7 4 SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into the Interlocal Agreement for the administration of the Green River Flood Control Zone District.
