RESOLUTION NO. 3488
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A
BILATERAL COMPLIANCE AGREEMENT WITH WASHINGTON
STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITIONAL WATER DISINFECTION
FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Health (WSDOH) has determined
that the City of Renton Wells 1, 2, and 3 are in hydraulic connection with surface water; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Health (WSDOH) is requiring the
City of Renton to install additional disinfection facilities for Wells 1, 2 and 3 to comply with
WAC Chapter 246-290; and
WHERE AS, it is in the public interest for the City of Renton and the Department of
Health to enter into an agreement for the City of Renton to design the facilities in 2001 and
to construct the facilities in 2002;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a
bilateral compliance agreement with the Washington State Department of Health for the
design and construction of the above facilities.
