HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3502CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3502 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON SUPPORTING THE COUNTY-WIDE EMS LEVY - 2002-2007 (MEDIC ONE LEVY). WHEREAS, the existing EMS Levy will expire at the end of the year 2001; and WHEREAS, there is a proposal to re-authorize the County-wide EMS Levy for the years 2002-2007; and WHEREAS, the EMS Levy supports the valuable and popular Medic One program; and WHEREAS, the EMS Levy will be in the statutory rate of $0.25 per $1000 of assessed valuation for the 6-year funding period; and WHEREAS, the EMS 2002 Task Force members have agreed to study the feasibility of delivering paramedic (ALS) services by means of a consortium of South King County Basic Life Support provider agencies, such discussion occurring during the lifetime of the proposed 2002- 2007 EMS Levy; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above findings are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION H. The City Council supports the County-wide EMS Levy for the years 2002-2007 (for Medic One) and urges the voters to vote for the Levy. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3502 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 23rd day of April ,2001.
