RESOLUTION NO. 3510
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A
LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT SUPPLEMENT WITH THE
WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR
ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING FOR THE EAST VALLEY ROAD
REHABILITATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has determined that it is necessary to do rehabilitation
work to the paving on East Valley Road between S.W. 41st Street and Lind Avenue S.W.; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 3298, the City of Renton and Washington State
Department of Transportation entered into an interlocal agreement for funding for that project;
and
WHEREAS, the project costs, because of a major increase in construction bids, have
exceeded the costs anticipated by the original agreement; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are available through the National Highway System STP/N
grant program in the amount of $167,411 out of a total cost increase of approximately $494,000;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and advisable to document the terms and conditions under
which these grant funds will be made available to the City of Renton;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a
Local Agency Agreement Supplement with the Washington State Department of Transportation

for the receipt of additional grant funding for the East Valley Road Rehabilitation Project, as well
as any further agreements, grants, supplement agreements, or other documentation necessary to
execute the work associated with this project.
