RESOLUTION NO. 3536
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY, TRADE, AND
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ENTITLED "PUBLIC WORKS TRUST
FUND PRE-CONSTRUCTION LOAN AGREEMENT NUMBER PW-01-
691-PRE-117" FOR DESIGN OF THE MAPLEWOOD WATER
TREATMENT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the treatment of the water from the Maplewood wellfield needs to be
improved to eliminate problems with manganese staining, hydrogen sulfide, taste and odor, and
other water quality issues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is preparing to design, via a consultant, a project to
construct treatment facilities whose operation will result in elimination of these water quality
problems; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Trust Fund has agreed to make a pre-construction loan to
the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document that loan by means of an agreement entitled
"Public Works Trust Fund Pre-Construction Loan Agreement Number PW-01-691-PRE-117;"
and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the City of Renton to enter into said
agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects.

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign the
agreement entitled "Public Works Trust Fund Pre-Construction Loan Agreement Number PW-01-
691-PRE-117."
