HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3437CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3437 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY CONCERNING THE MAPLEWOOD CHANNEL STABILIZATION PROJECT. WHEREAS, King County is planning to install channel stabilization improvements to Maplewood Creek to improve the potential for upstream fish migration in the Creek and to help prevent erosion; and WHEREAS, one of the areas identified for channel improvements is located just north of the City's previously constructed sedimentation basin and channel project; and WHEREAS, King County's proposed construction plans include installing channel stabilization in a portion of Maplewood Creek owned by the City; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Fish and Wildlife has previously indicated that the City would need to correct certain barriers to fish passage just north of the City's previously constructed sediment basin and channel project; and WHEREAS, it would more efficient for King County to install the entire project, with the City of Renton contributing the appropriate amount of money to the project to pay for the required City improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal agreement with King County granting King County a temporary construction easement over City 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3437 property, providing for County management of this project, and requiring the City to contribute the sum of $27,320.00 for the City's share of the work.
