HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4766 Amends: ORD 4720, 4724 Amended by ORD 5062 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 4766 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTIONS 4.4.100.0 AND 4.4.100.E OF CHAPTER 4, PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS, OF TITLE IV (DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS), OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON" BY ALLOWING FREESTANDING SIGNS AT PUBLIC FACILITIES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Subsections 4.4.100.C.3.a and E.4.a of Chapter 4, Property Development Standards, of Title IV (Development Regulations), of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" are hereby amended to read as follows: C.3.a: Outside City Center: All of the following signs located within 75 feet of the public right-of-way with any of the following features: animated, revolving more than eight revolutions per minute, blinking and flashing. Exceptions are public service signs, such as those which give the time, temperature and/or humidity, and electronic message boards/signs for public facilities and for car dealers located within the Automall Area(s). E.4.a: Churches, Apartments and Subdivision: Churches, apartment buildings, subdivision developments and similar occupancies located in residential and mixed-use zones may have two on-premises identifying signs of not over 32 square feet area on one face. The signs may be illuminated but not animated, shall be for location identification only and shall display no copy, symbol or device other than that in keeping with the development. Freestanding signs shall be not higher than six feet above any established grade and shall be no closer than ten feet to any street right-of-way or five feet to any side property line. ORDINANCE NO. 4 7 6 6 SECTION II. Subsection 4.4.100.E.4 of Chapter 4, Property Development Standards, of Title IV (Development Regulations), of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby amended by adding the following subsection which reads as follows: f. Public Facilities (public buildings, schools, parks and recreation facilities): Each individual public facility may have one freestanding electronic or manual message board, a maximum of 25 feet in height and 150 square feet in size. In addition to the message board sign, each individual facility may have one freestanding sign not higher than six feet above any established grade for each street frontage and no more than 100 square feet. Freestanding signs shall be no closer than ten feet to any street right-of-way or five feet to any side property line. In addition to the freestanding signs, wall signs are permitted with a total copy area not exceeding 10% of the building facade to which it is applied. SECTION In.
