HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3384 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 8 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MORRIS AVENUE S., WHITWORTH AVENUE S., AND SHATTUCK AVENUE S. BETWEEN S. 2ND STREET AND S. 3RD STREET. WHEREAS, the City plans to add to the Logan Avenue/Pipeline Parking Project the installation of an upgraded cathodic protection system for the Seattle Public Utilities' Cedar River Pipelines between Burnett Avenue S. and Rainier Avenue S.; and WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the restoration of roadway pavement on Morris Avenue S., Whitworth Avenue S. and Shattuck Avenue S. it will be necessary to temporarily close these streets; and WHEREAS, the closure of Morris Avenue S., Whitworth Avenue S. and Shattuck Avenue S. between S. 2nd Street and S. 3rd Street will occur during the period March 29, 1999 to May 7, 1999, and will be limited to five working days each, with not more than one street being closed at the same time; and WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code section 9-9-3 the City Council is to authorize such closure by means of a Resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION H. The City Council does hereby authorize the temporary closure of Morris Avenue S., Whitworth Avenue S. and Shattuck Avenue S. between S. 2nd Street and S. 3rd Street 1 RESOLUTION NO. 33 R 4 to occur during the period March 29, 1999 to May 7, 1999, to allow the contractor to restore the roadway pavement.
