HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3385 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 8 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS. WHEREAS, the City of Renton has a two-story modular building designed and built by Evergreen Mobile Company, courtroom benches and fixtures, and the same being of no further use or benefit to the City's needs, and there being no foreseeable requirement for said property in the future; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and the general public to dispose of said property on the most advantageous terms available to the City; and WHEREAS, state law authorizes public organizations to share resources in accordance with RCW Chapter 39.33.010; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. SECTION II. The Finance and Information Services Administrator of the City of Renton is hereby authorized and directed to issue a Request for Proposal for a two-story modular building designed and built by Evergreen Mobile Company, courtroom benches and fixtures, to those cities who have expressed an interest in acquiring said property. SECTION III. The surplus property and materials are to be sold on a cash basis with the successful bidding city also responsible for: (1) dismantling and removing the building; and (2) restoring the site to its former condition. All property will be offered in an "as is" 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 8 5 condition, without warranty, expressed or implied, and the acceptable bid will be final and conclusive. The City will reserve the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any irregularities in the form of a proposal. Alternately, the Administrator is authorized to negotiate for the sale of the surplus property. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 12th day of April , 1999.
