RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 8 6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO
PROVIDE MUTUAL AID FOR CONFINED SPACE AND EMERGENCY
DIVE TEAM SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF BELLEVUE AND THE
CITY OF RENTON FOR CONFINED SPACE RESCUE AND EMERGENCY
DIVE TEAM CAPABILITIES.
WHEREAS, the Bellevue Fire Department has the capabilities of providing emergency
rescue in a certified confined space environment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has the capabilities to provide assistance for emergency
rescue of a potential or actual drowning victim that cannot be retrieved or located by rescuers
without scuba gear; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bellevue agrees, when sufficient resources are available, to provide
equipment and personnel for an emergency rescue in a certified confined space environment; and
WHEREAS, the Renton Fire Department agrees, when sufficient Renton resources are
available, to provide equipment and personnel for an emergency rescue of a potential or actual
drowning victim that cannot be retrieved or located by rescuers without scuba gear; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which such mutual
aid will be provided;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION II. The Fire Chief is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement to Provide
Mutual Aid for Confined Space and Emergency Dive Team Services Between the City of Bellevue
and the City of Renton.
