RESOLUTION NO, 3 3 8 8
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM
OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN PIERCE COUNTY, THE CITY OF RENTON
AND THE PUGET SOUND US&R TASK FORCE.
WHEREAS, Pierce County is the primary sponsoring organization of the Washington Task
Force 1, an Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Pierce County has agreed to recruit and organize the task force in participation
with other municipal governments; and
WHEREAS, Pierce County is obtaining or providing funds to purchase US&R related
equipment, or to accept donations of the same, and to provide that equipment for mobilization and
response as necessary; and
WHEREAS, the US&R Task Force will be activated upon request from any state
government for federal disaster assistance or the determination by the federal emergency
management agency that prepositioning US&R Task Forces is prudent; and
WHEREAS, the ability to access US&R Task Forces is of benefit to the citizens of the City
of the Renton; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the City of
Renton will participate in the Puget Sound US&R Task Force;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION IL The Fire Chief is hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of
Agreement Between Pierce County and Participating Organizations in the Puget Sound US&R Task
Force together with any and all necessary addenda to that agreement.
