RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 9 0
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MAIN AVENUE
SOUTH AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE RAILWAY CROSSING AT
HOUSER WAY SOUTH.
WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement with the Burlington Northern Santa
Fe Railway to make improvements to the existing railroad crossing at Houser Way South and it is
necessary to replace the railroad crossing materials; and
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate this construction it will be necessary to temporarily
close Main Avenue South at the intersection of the railway crossing on Houser Way South; and
WHEREAS, this closure will occur on a Sunday night during the month of May 1999;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code section 9-9-3 the City Council is to authorize such
closure by means of a Resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION H. The City Council does hereby authorize the temporary closure of Main
Avenue South at the intersection of the railway crossing at Houser Way South for a period of one
day to occur on a Sunday during the month of May 1999 commencing around 10:00 P.M., the
exact date will be dependent upon coordinating work activities between the Burlington Northern
Santa Fe Railroad and the Main Avenue South construction contractors schedules, to allow night
time construction to replace the railroad crossing materials.
