HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3425 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3 4 2 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ROAD SERVICES DIVISION ENTITLED "REIMBURSEMENT-COMMITMENT TO PAY" FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON THE N.W. 2ND STREET STORM SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, N.W. 2nd Street, west of Taylor Avenue N.W., serves several single-family homes located in both the City of Renton and in King County; and WHEREAS, runoff from an upstream tributary area flows down N.W. 2"d Street onto Taylor Avenue,N.W.; and WHEREAS, such runoff is damaging the road pavement surfaces; and WHEREAS, during freezing temperature ice forms on N.W. 2"d Street and at the intersection of N.W. 2"d Street and Taylor Avenue N.W. creating a safety hazard to motorists and pedestrians; and WHEREAS, the City of Renton and King County have agreed to jointly address these problems; and WHEREAS, King County has the majority of the property within its jurisdiction and so has agreed to take the lead in performing this work; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Renton to commit to pay its portion of this project; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3 425 SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with King County Department of Transportation Road Services Division entitled "Reimbursement- Commitment to Pay" for installation of a storm drainage system at N.W. 2nd Street and S. 132nd Avenue in the amount of$31,607.00.
