RESOLUTION NO. 2781
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, RELATING
TO THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE CITY OF RENTON FROM THE PUGET
SOUND COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 31, 1990,
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OR HIS DESIGNEE TO
SUBMIT A WRITTEN NOTICE OF RESIGNATION ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4 of the Interlocal Agreement
creating the Puget Sound Council of Governments, and pursuant to
Article IV, Section 5, of the Bylaws of the Puget Sound Council of
Governments (PSCOG) , any regular member electing to withdraw from
the PSCOG shall submit its resignation in writing to the Executive
Board for action six months prior to the annual assessment; and
WHEREAS, the annual assessment for calendar year 1991 is due
and payable in advance on or before the first day of April, 1991;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton' s current and past annual
assessments are paid in full; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Board shall be required to accept a
member's resignation in instances in which the member's current and
past annual assessments are paid in full; and
WHEREAS, PSCOG Resolution No. A-89-01, as adopted at the Annual
Assembly Meeting of October 26, 1989 , supports a sunset date of June
30, 1991 for the PSCOG as currently constituted, provided that a
framework for a new regional transportation planning agency is in
place by January 1, 1991 .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION I. The above recitals are hereby found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The City of Renton hereby withdraws as a regular
member of the Puget Sound Council of Governments effective December
31, 1990 .
SECTION III. The Mayor or his designee is authorized and
directed to submit a written notice of resignation to the Executive
Board upon behalf of the City of Renton informing the Executive
Board of the City's withdrawal from the Puget Sound Council of
Governments effective December 31, 1990 .
SECTION IV. The City of Renton agrees to actively
participate in transition year 1990 activities for the Puget Sound
Council of Governments as described in PSCOG Resolution No. A-89-01 .
