RESOLUTION NO. 2803
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE
AGREEMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE FOR THE GOODWILL
GAMES.
WHEREAS, the 1990 Goodwill Games requires a major law
enforcement operation affecting more than one law enforcement
agency; and
WHEREAS, such law enforcement operation is necessary to
protect persons and property; and
WHEREAS, the interlocal cooperative agreement permits usage of
City of Renton law enforcement personnel only when police services
to the citizens of the City of Renton are not unreasonably
impaired; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has agreed to hold the City of
Renton harmless from liability for damage or injury caused by City
of Renton law enforcement personnel acting in the normal course and
scope of their duties, and has further agreed to provide insurance
for such liability; and
WHEREAS, the salaries and overtime pay for such officers shall
be paid by the City of Seattle.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Renton,
Washington, are hereby authorized to sign the Interlocal

Goodwill Games .
