HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2814 Development Funds Rerlace6 By Resolution No. 2826 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 2814 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN AQUATIC LAND ENHANCEMENT ACCOUNT PROJECT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES (CEDAR RIVER TRAIL VISTA A.L.E.A. ) . WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 79 .24 .580, RCW, state funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of the construction of facilities for public access to, and aquatic land enhancement of, state-owned aquatic lands; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, considers it in the best public interest to develop a waterfront park in the eastern part of the city generally located on the shores of the Cedar River. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II. The Mayor is authorized to make formal application to the Department of Natural Resources . SECTION III. Any fund assistance so received shall be used in the development of eleven ( 11 ) acres of land on the shores of the Cedar River. SECTION IV. The city's share for the project will be derived from King County Open Space Bond Funds; the amount of the city's share shall be $7, 519 . 75 for an interpretive system and 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2814 ' $6,571 . 13 for development of improvement waterfront access, for a total commitment of $14, 090 . 88 . SECTION V. This resolution shall become part of a formal application to the Department of Natural Resources . SECTION VI. Adequate notification has been given and opportunity provided for public input.
