Amends Ordinance 1879
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2799
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT TO THE SEWAGE DISPOSAL CONTRACT WITH THE
MUNICIPALITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE (METRO) .
WHEREAS, the City of Renton, Washington, by Ordinance No. 1879
adopted by the City Council on April 4, 1961 , entered into a
contract with the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) for
sewage disposal; and
WHEREAS, Metro has recommended certain changes in the
structure of its charges to its participants and has proposed an
amendment of that contract; and
WHEREAS, this amendment would result in a change in the
residential customer equivalency value used to charge the City of
Renton for non-residential customers from 900 cubic feet per month
to 750 cubic feet; and
WHEREAS, this amendment would acknowledge that, by Resolution
of the Metro Council, Metro may impose a charge or charges directly
on the future customers of the City of Renton for purposes of
paying for capacity in Metro Sewage Facilities; and
WHEREAS, it was deemed appropriate and in the public interest
to amend the existing contract .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .

RESOLUTION NO. 2799
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Renton,
Washington, are hereby authorized and directed to execute this
amendment to the Metro contract entered into under Ordinance No.
1879 which shall be substantially in the form set forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
