ORDINANCE NO.'4677
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON AMENDING
SUBSECTION 8-5-15.C OF CHAPTER 5,SEWERS,o.F TITLE VIII
(HEALTH AND SANITATION),OF ORDINANCE NO.4260 ENTITLED
~CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RE'NTON,
WASHINGTON",BY REVISING POLICIES BY WHICH THE CITY WILL
ALLOW CONNECTION TO ITS SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM BY PROPERTY
OWNERS OUTSIDE OF THE CURRENT CITY LIMITS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.Subsection 8-5-15.C of Chapter 5,Sewers,of
Title VIII (Health and Sanitation),of Ordinance No.4260 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,Washington"is
hereby amended to read as follows:
C.Service Outside Of City:Sewer service to propertie,s
outside the City's corporate limits will be permitted under the
following conditions:
1.The property shall be within the City's adopted
Potential Annexation Area (PAA)or approved Sanitary Sewer Service
Boundary;and
2.Planning/Building/public Works Department
mandates design standards and criteria"for the' property (ies)
requesting service without annexation.King County Boundary Review'
Board approval of servic.e and .service agreements with adjacent
districts will'be "obtained,when necessary',prior to issuance of
the public works permit.The property owner will oQtain and pay for
all required permits,inclUding but not limited to City side sewer

permits arid County right-of-way permit (if necessary).The
property owners will be responsibl~·for the~r fair share of the
cost of the installation of the sewer main either through di-rect
costs or latecomer's assessments;and
3.The rates to such specia;L.uEiers shall be one and
one-half (1 1/2)times the basic City rates applicable to resident
users for similar services plus any monthly fees levied by Metro
except that such exemptions and discounts as provided in sections
8-4-32,8-5-15.0.4 and 8-5-15.0.5 shall likewise apply to these
rates.
SECTIo.N.II.This ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage,approval,and five days after its p~blication.
