HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4130I Amends Ord.No.3988 CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO.4110 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON, AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 4-2204 OF TITLE IV(BUILDING REGULATIONS)OF ORDINANCE NO.1628 ENT~TLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON"RELATING TO FIRE LANES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON,DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I:Existing subsection 13 A.(3)(a)and (c)of Section 4~2204 of Title IV (Building Regulations)of Ordinanc~No.1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton"are amended to read as follows: Section 13 A.(3)(a),as amended:Lanes shall be identified by a four inch (4")wide line and curb painted bright red.The block letters shall state,"FIRE LANE '--NO PARKING.",be eighteen inches (18")high,painted white, located not less than 1 foot (11)from the curb face,at fifty foot (50")intervals Section 13 A.(3)(c),as amended:Signs shall be spaced not further than fifty feet (50 1 )apart nor shall they be placed less than five (5)feet,or more1than seven (7)feet from the ground.The installation and use of fire lane signs will preclude the requirement for painting FIRE LANE -NO PARKING,in the lane only.The area shall be identified by painting the curb red or in the absence of a curb,a four inch (4")red line shall be used. ORDINANCE NO.4130 SECTION II:This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,approval and thirty (30)days after publication. Enforcement of the preexisting ordinance shall remain in effect unti'l such time as the fire lane is required for repainting by the Fire Department,due to the effects of weather and vehicular traffic.
