HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3319 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3319 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM ON BUILDING PERMITS, LAND USE PERMITS AND SUBDIVISION PERMITS ON PROPERTY TO BE DE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF NEWCASTLE LOCATED IN THE '. VICINITY OF LAKE WASHINGTON BOULEVARD N.E . , N.E . 50TH ' .STREET AND S.E . 72ND STREET, UNTIL OCTOBER 13, 1998, OR ;AS EARLIER TERMINATED ACCORDING TO THE TERMS HEREIN, OR "AS OTHERWISE EXTENDED. WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated deannexation of certain property located within the City of Renton indicating its desire that ..such property be annexed to the City of Newcastle; and WHEREAS, the City of .Renton passed Resolution No. 3303 imposing a moratorium on building permits, land use permits and subdi.vision .permits on that property, such moratorium to expire on April 13, 1998; and WHEREAS, the City of Newcastle has taken the necessary steps to annex the property to the City of Newcastle; and WHEREAS, the City of Newcastle has submitted the necessary annexation packet to the Boundary Review Board; and WHEREAS, the Boundary Review Board requires additional time to process the annexation packet, according to state law; and WHEREAS, it would be inappropriate for building permits, land use permits and subdivision permits to take place within the subject property; 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3319 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II . The moratorium on building permits, land use permits and subdivision permits as detailed in City of Renton Resolution No . 3303 are extended until October 13, 1998, or the effective date of the City of Newcastle' s legislation annexing the subject property to the City of Newcastle and the termination of any steps legally required by law to make the annexation effective, whichever occurs first. SECTION III . The moratorium may be continued beyond the sixth month period of time upon adoption of findings of fact justifying said extension of the moratorium and public hearing. SECTION IV. This moratorium relates to the properties legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated by reference as if fully set forth.
