RESOLUTION NO. 3323
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON
STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CONCERNING TURNBACK
OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR MAINTENANCE BY THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation,
as part of the SR-405 S-Curves Project, did certain work on City
of Renton property; and
WHEREAS, the realignment of SR-405 has resulted in the state
abandoning a portion of the existing state highway and associated
features; and
WHEREAS, reconstruction of SR-405 resulted in the rearranging
of City streets and other features; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to state law, upon completion of the
construction of SR-405 it is necessary to describe the maintenance
responsibilities, ownership and control of certain streets and
associated improvements; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to document
the ownership, maintenance and responsibility of the streets and
associated features and this will be accomplished by an agreement
with the Washington State Department of Transportation,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
RESOLUTION NO. 3322
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with
the Washington State Department of Transportation entitled
City/Town Turnback Agreement re South Renton I/C to Sunset
Boulevard, R/W Title: Renton "S" Curves .
