RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 5 6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF N.E. 24TH STREET
BETWEEN ABERDEEN AVENUE N.E. AND BLAINE AVENUE N.E.,
THE INTERSECTION OF ABERDEEN AVENUE N.E. AND N.E. 24TH
STREET, AND ABERDEEN AVENUE N.E. BETWEEN N.E. 24TH
STREET AND N.E. 20TH STREET.
WHEREAS, the construction of the N.E. 27th Street/Aberdeen Avenue N.E. Storm
Improvements&East Kennydale Sewer Interceptor Project is under construction; and
WHEREAS, the trench for the two pipes, a sanitary sewer manhole and storm sewer
manhole, will be approximately 24 feet deep; and
WHEREAS, shoring requirements for the trench will result in a trench that will be
approximately 30 feet wide at-the surface which cannot be safely covered to allow traffic to pass
over; and
WHEREAS, there will be local access to residents on the affected streets; and
WHEREAS, this construction activity will require a temporary street closure of N.E. 24th
Street between Aberdeen Avenue N.E. and Blaine Avenue N.E., the intersection of Aberdeen
Avenue, N.E. and N.E. 24th Street, and Aberdeen Avenue N.E. between N.E. 24th Street and
N.E. 20th Street; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code section 9-9-3 the City Council is to authorize such
closures by means of a Resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION II. The City Council does hereby authorize the temporary closure of N.E.
24th Street between Aberdeen Avenue N.E. and Blaine Avenue N.E., the intersection of
Aberdeen Avenue, N.E. and N.E. 24th Street, and Aberdeen Avenue N.E. between N.E. 24th
Street and N.E. 20th Street beginning October 13, 1998 to November 9, 1998.
