RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 5 9
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE FOUR
CONTRACTS RELATED TO THE SEATTLE WATER PIPELINE
FRANCHISE SPECIFICALLY ENTITLED:
1. INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT.
2. WATER PURVEYOR CONTRACT.
3. LEASE AGREEMENT.
4. AGREEMENT FOR TRANSFER OF WATER SERVICE AND
PROVISION OF PRIMARY FIRE SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle maintains water pipelines through the City of Renton and
crossing certain City of Renton streets; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has certain property that it owns in fee for its.water
pipelines that the City of Renton currently uses or for which it has planned uses; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has previously agreed to provide to the City of Renton
emergency water, and pursuant to this set of contracts will agree to extend the term for provision
of emergency water; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle currently provides water to The Boeing Company for
industrial purposes, drinking water, sanitary purposes and fire protection, and the City of Renton
wishes to take over the responsibility for providing primary water for all of these purposes but for
primary fire service; and
WHEREAS, these various topics are covered in four separate agreements; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the public interest to have these agreements executed;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into four
Interlocal Agreements between the City of Renton and the City of Seattle entitled: 1) Interlocal
Agreement, 2) Water Purveyor Contract, 3) Lease Agreement, and 4) Agreement for Transfer of
Water Service and Provision of Primary Fire Service.
