RESOLUTION NO. 3263
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
WASHINGTON OFFICE OF THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE COURTS
FOR . REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED FOR REWIRING
REPLACEMENT COMPUTER TERMINALS FOR THE MUNICIPAL COURT.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Administrator for the Courts for
the state of Washington, the county courts and city courts
determined that it was in the public' s interest to update and
improve the judicial information system by upgrading the equipment
used by the courts to connect to that system; and
WHEREAS, it was also advisable to use a network that would
employ the Internet Protocol in order to enhance the ability of
the courts to share data and common data bases for judicial
information; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Administrator for the Courts is
providing personal. computers to replace terminals the courts now
use; and
WHEREAS, these new computers require Ethernet wiring at the
courts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton will undertake the necessary
rewiring occasioned by these changes in computers; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Administrator for the Courts
wishes to participate in the expense of this rewiring; and

WHEREAS, the terms and conditions for the Office of the
Administrator for the Courts to participate in the rewiring is
contained in an interlocal agreement between the Office of the
Administrator for the Courts and the City of Renton;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an interlocal cooperative agreement with the Office
of the Administrator for the Courts for reimbursement of expenses
incurred for .rewiring necessitated by replacement of terminals by
personal computers and the conversion of the JIS data
communications network from SNA to Internet Protocol (IP) .
