RESOLUTION NO. 3278
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
RENTON AND KING COUNTY FOR WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING
GRANT PROGRAMS FOR THE SUBURBAN CITIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is a participant in the King
County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the King County Solid Waste Division has established
a multi-phased waste reduction and recycling program for the
suburban cities; and
WHEREAS, Phase II grant monies are available to all King
County suburban cities that operate under the King County
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for providing local waste
reduction and recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton' s budget grant funds are
$33, 388 . 00, which is the City' s current share of Phase II grant
funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to sign and enter into an Interlocal Agreement between King County
and the City of Renton under which it will receive Phase II grant
funds not to exceed $33, 388 . 00 for the implementation of waste
reduction and recycling programs .
