HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3282 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3282 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING ITS SUPPORT FOR THE PROPOSED 1998-2003 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) LEVY. ;WHEREAS, the King County area presently enjoys exceptional emergency medical services; and WHEREAS, the current level of emergency medical services is supported by an existing levy that is to expire on December 31, 1997; and WHEREAS, in order to continue and improve upon the current level of emergency medical services, it will be necessary to pass a new levy; and .. WHEREAS, there has been generated a 1998-2003 Emergency Medical Services Strategic Plan; and WHEREAS, the funding to achieve that plan would be between $0 . 29 and $0 .295 per $1, 000 . 00 of assessed valuation; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that a 1998-2003 Emergency Medical Services Levy will be proposed for submission to the voters with the levy rate at between $0 .29 and $0 . 295 per $1, 000 . 00 of assessed valuation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II. The City of Renton supports the proposed 1998- 2003 Emergency Medical Services Levy at the proposed level of $0 . 29 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3282 and $0 .295 per $1, 000 . 00 of assessed valuation and encourages voters to approve this levy during the general election this fall .
