RESOLUTION NO. 3164
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT
NO. 1 TO THE 1991 MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH KING
COUNTY FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PHASE III ENLARGEMENT OF
THE METRO TREATMENT PLANT.
WHEREAS, the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) and
the City of Renton entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for
Implementation of the Phase III Enlargement of the Metro Treatment
Plant at Renton; and
WHEREAS, Metro was consolidated into King County and the
Agreement assumed by King County; and
WHEREAS, the engineering staffs of the City and the County
have determined that construction of the May Valley Interceptor
Project under the Memorandum of Agreement can be deferred or waived
if the City project, known as the Renton Sunset Interceptor
Project, is installed; and
WHEREAS, the County is willing to contribute $636, 143 . 00 to
the total cost of that project which is estimated at $3, 332 , 000 . 00
because of cost savings from deferral or waiver of the May Valley
Interceptor;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into Amendment No. 1 to the 1991 Memorandum of Agreement
