RESOLUTION NO. 3171
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY, TRADE, AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ENTITLED, "PUBLIC WORKS TRUST FUND PRE-
CONSTRUCTION LOAN AGREEMENT NUMBER PW-5-96-791-PRE-117"
FOR DESIGN OF THE CORROSION CONTROL TREATMENT FACILITIES
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the levels of dissolved copper in the City' s drinking
water at customer taps exceed the action level established by the
Lead and Copper Rule of the Safe Drinking Water Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is preparing to design, via a
consultant, a project to construct corrosion control treatment
facilities, the operation of which will result in acceptable levels
of dissolved copper in the drinking water; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Trust Fund has agreed to make a pre-
construction loan to the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document that loan by means of an
agreement entitled "Public Works Trust Fund Pre-Construction Loan
Agreement Number PW-5-96-791-PRE-117" ; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the City of
Renton to enter into said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE,O THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to sign the agreement entitled "Public Works Trust Fund Pre-
Construction Loan Agreement Number PW-5-96-791-PRE-117 . "
