RESOLUTION NO. 3183
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN
ACQUISITION PROJECT TO KING COUNTY AS PROVIDED BY THE
KING COUNTY CONSERVATION FUTURES LEVY FUND ACQUISITION
PROGRAM (BLACK RIVER FOREST TRACT A) .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, has
approved a "Comprehensive Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan" for
the urban area which identifies open space located in the southwest
planning area of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Black River Forest is identified as a high priority
for acquisition in the City' s "Comprehensive Park, Recreation and
Open Space Plan" ; and
WHEREAS, Tract A is an integral part of the Black River Forest
Open Space System; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the King County Conservation
Futures Levy Fund, funding assistance has been authorized and made
available to aid in financing the cost of acquiring open space land
for public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton considers it in
the best public interest to acquire the Tract A parcel of land
adjacent to the existing Black River Forest open space system,
generally located along Oakesdale Avenue, S .W. ;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor is authorized to make formal
application to King County for funding assistance .
SECTION III . Any fund assistance so received will be used in
the acquisition of the 8 .33 acre Tract A parcel located in the
southwest planning area of the City of Renton, Washington.
SECTION IV. No new source of City funds are identified.
Additional funds to complete the project will be derived from
previously committed Open Space Bond Issue Funds, Conservation
Futures Funds, IAC Funds and Reserve Park Funds .
SECTION V. If Conservation Futures Levy Funds are provided
for the acquisition of Tract A, as provided herein, the Mayor is
further authorized to make formal request to King County to
reallocate the City' s remaining Open Space Bond Proceeds and
Conservation Futures Levy Funds to the purchase of Tract A in
accordance with the Interlocal Cooperation Agreements between King
County and the City of Renton.
SECTION VI. This resolution shall be made available as part
of a formal application to King County.
SECTION VII. Adequate notification has been given and
opportunity provided for public input .
