RESOLUTION NO. 3210
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY FOR THE
OPERATION OF THE ELECTRONIC HOME DETENTION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Federal Way and the City of Renton wish to
enter into an interlocal agreement for the operation of the
Electronic Home Detention Program for the electronic monitoring of
certain individuals sentenced by the King County District Court,
Federal Way Division; and
WHEREAS, the Electronic Home Detention Program offers an
alternative to incarceration at the King County Correctional
Facility; and
WHEREAS, the institution of the Electronic Home Detention
Program will require each monitored participant to pay for the cost
of his/her own participation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has experience in operating a
successful Electronic Home Detention Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Federal Way would like to take advantage
of the experience of the City of Renton in operating an Electronic
Home Detention Program; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the agreement between the
parties;
RESOLUTION NO. 3210
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an interlocal agreement with the City of Federal Way
and execute the "Electronic Home Detention Program Agreement ."
