CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO.'2957- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON VACATING A PORTION OF WHITMAN COURT N.E,AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINBELOW WHEREAS a proper petition for vacating a portion of Whitman Court N.E~,Renton,King County,Washington,was duly filed with 'the City Clerk on or about June 2,1975,and said petition having been signed by owners representing more than two-thirds of the property abutting upon such street sought to be vacated;and WHEREAS the City Council by Resolution No.1992 passed and approved on June 9,1975,and after due investigation,did fix and determine the 14th day of July,1975,at the hour of 8:00 P.M.in the City Council Chambers of the,City of Renton to be the time and place for a public hearing thereon,and the City Clerk having given due notice of such hearing in the manner provided by law,and all persons having been heard appearing in favor or in opposition thereto;and WHEREAS the Department of Public Works and the Planning Department of the City of Renton having duly considered said petition for said vacation,and having found same to be in the pUblic interest and for the public benefit,and no injury or damage to any person or properties will result from such vacation; NOW THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS,: SECTION'I:The following described portion of street, to-wit: See exhibit "A"attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fUlly set forth herein BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY ,VACATED,subject to payment unto the -1- --_._---_.,_•.- - City by the abutting Petitioners-Owners thereof of the total sum of $500.00,which sum does not exceed one-half of the value of the area so vacated;and further SUBJECT to dedication unto'the City of Renton by said Petitioners-Owners of the following described property,to-wit: See Exhibit "c"attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. for street,utility and other public purposes;and further SUBJECT to an easement for public utility purposes to be retained by the City of Renton,as follows: See Exhibit "B"attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. SECTION II:This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,approval and five days after its publication.
